Birth house of Camilo José Cela

Birth house of Camilo José Cela

House of the Trulock family

The author’s grandfather, John Trulock, lived in this house. He was an English railway engineer that came to Galicia to work on its first railway line, which linked Cornes (Santiago de Compostela) and Carril (Vilagarcía de Arousa).

Work began in 1861 and lasted 12 years until the line connecting the city of Santiago and its port, Carril, was opened on September 15, 1873.

Since the house is now a private home, you can only see the outside.
